This Privacy Policy explains how Evercend Pty Limited (we, us, our) handles personal information collected through cgtaustralia.com.au (the site). CGT Australia is a brand of Evercend Pty Limited. We aim to handle personal information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

The short version

The site is a set of free calculators, guides and tools. It does not require an account. The numbers you type into any calculator are processed in your browser and are not sent to us or stored on our servers. We use Google Analytics to understand general site usage. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly. If you contact us by email, we collect your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.

Usage and analytics data. Through Google Analytics we collect data such as the pages you view, time spent on the site, your approximate location based on your IP address, your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies.

We do not collect names, account logins or payment details, because the site has no accounts and processes no payments.

Your calculator inputs stay on your device

All calculations run in your browser. The figures you enter, such as income or property values, are not transmitted to us and are not stored on our servers. Some tools, such as the Property Due Diligence Checklist, save your progress in your browser using local storage so it is there when you return. That data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-156KZRCFP5) to measure traffic and improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on that Google provides. Blocking analytics cookies does not stop the calculators from working. Google handles the data it collects under its own privacy policy.

Third-party services

The site is hosted by Hostinger. We use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, for site measurement. These providers have their own privacy policies, and some may process data outside Australia.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including Google, store and process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. By using the site you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas by these providers.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to operate and maintain the site, understand how the site is used in general, improve our content and tools, and respond to enquiries you send us. We do not sell personal information.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. Email correspondence is kept only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry.

Accessing your information and making a complaint

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or raise a privacy concern by emailing hello@cgtaustralia.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

The site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children.
