This tool does not save your data. Your entries are cleared when you close or refresh this page. Export to CSV before you leave.

Disclaimer: This tool is a record-keeping aid only and is not financial or tax advice. The logbook method involves specific ATO rules and individual circumstances vary. A completed logbook does not guarantee a valid deduction claim. Always confirm the requirements with a registered tax agent or the ATO. Evercend Pty Limited does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence.

The logbook method lets eligible taxpayers work out the business-use percentage of a car and apply it to car expenses. The ATO requires a logbook kept over a continuous 12-week period that represents typical use. This tool helps capture the details the ATO asks for. It is a record-keeping aid, not tax advice, and it does not guarantee a valid claim.

Part 1 — Vehicle and logbook period details

Days in logbook period:--

The ATO requires a continuous 12-week (84-day) period that is representative of your typical use.

Part 2 — Trip log

The ATO requires all trips to be recorded, not just business trips. Include a specific purpose for each business trip; a general description such as “business trip” alone may not be sufficient detail.

No trips recorded yet.

Use “Add trip” to start recording. All trips must be entered, including private ones.
